Cinemagic are partnering with female-focused film review podcast Girls On Film. The founders of the podcast, host Anna Smith and exec producer Hedda Archbold are coming to Belfast to produce a live edition of the podcast on 25th March 2023.
There is the opportunity to offer a young person in Northern Ireland the opportunity to intern with Girls On Film, to assist on producing the podcast.
The intern would gain experience of producing a film-related live stage events, recorded to broadcast as a podcasts. You would work together with the Girls On Film team to decide the content of the podcast. Further tasks would include liaising with Girls On Film and Cinemagic, and with film PR agencies, agents and guests; dealing with correspondence relating to the podcast; diary support in relation to the Cinemagic episode; assisting with show preparation by producing scripts, and on the day of the event by welcoming and chaperoning guests. Another aspect would be to help publicise the event and connect with audiences, and to produce social media posts around the event.
The work would be done fairly independently but with a great deal of interaction and support. There will be regular zoom meetings with the Girls On Film team: Anna, Hedda, Ellie and Lydia.
The candidate should have excellent communication skills, accurate spelling and grammar, an engaging telephone manner, an energetic work ethic, a capacity to work independently, a keen attitude to working in the media, a lively curiosity, the capacity to keep calm under stress and be unfazed by celebrity.
This internship is intended to help a young person who is seeking to develop or maintain their skills and their connections, with a view to finding work in the film-related media. The intern gives their services free of charge, in order to learn from and be trained by HLA Agency.
