CINEMAGIC 'ON THE PULSE’ SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (MARCH ’22)
The 4th Cinemagic ON THE PULSE Short Film Festival returns to venues throughout Belfast in March ’22.
After a fully digital edition last year we are delighted to return to live events and cinema based screenings in 2022.
The Festival, celebrating the short film genre, is funded by the Department for Communities through Northern Ireland Screen, and will present a programme of unmissable films for children, families, schools, young adults and young filmmakers, as well as a film surgery, jury programme and a masterclass and q&a series for aspiring film, television and media creators.
The film programme offers a cinematic window to the world presenting a diverse range of storytelling, celebrating universal stories of youth and youth perspectives. The Cinemagic ‘On the Pulse’ selection of short films is multi-genre including documentary, drama, comedy, horror and animation. Prizes are awarded to the Best Live Action Short Film and Best Animated Short Film.
Short Films are invited to enter 'On the Pulse' for the main programme with a specific Call for Entries for Young Filmmaker @ 'On the Pulse'.
Festival themes will include stories of inclusivity, the world today, young protagonists overcoming challenges, and stories of celebration and heart warming tales. There will also be a showcase of the winning and highly commended films from the 2021 Cinemagic Young Filmmaker Competition, showcasing talent from across the UK and Ireland.
16–25-year-olds will have the opportunity to participate in practical workshops, tutorials and q&as which are a must for aspiring creatives.

‘On The Pulse’ also illustrates the importance of short filmmaking in the development of practical skills and in the development of sustainable careers in the creative industries and I encourage young creators to get involved in the vast array of opportunities on offer this March”.
