CINEMAGIC’S ‘DEVISING MUSICAL THEATRE’ RESIDENTIAL CAMP

Cinemagic recently hosted its annual Devising Musical Theatre Residential Camp for 40 young people aged 11-19 from all over Northern Ireland who are passionate about performing arts and the event took place in The Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast and Lorne House Holywood. The camp was supported by The Executive Office Together: Building a United Community.

The camp focused on developing new skills and getting to know each other through workshops with industry professionals also had a strong focus on good relations, drama, devising, acting and singing. Young people took part in rehearsals, a 2 night residential and a public performance for friends and family. The final performance was directed by Director Brian McMahon and the Good Relations Workshops were led by Catherine Mc Colgan, Gerry Kelly and Kieran Devlin. Cinemagic filmmakers filmed the camp and behind-the-scenes footage was captured. This project is an excellent opportunity for young people to learn in a fun and creative environment while making new friends.

Cinemagic have been delivering this programme for a number of years and hope to deliver another camp in 2019. Information will be posted on the Cinemagic website in Summer 2019.
