We were thrilled to kick off our Cinemagic LA week of festivities by welcoming students from WISH Academy, Hawthorne School District, and more, to join young people from Northern Ireland and Ireland to a special creative industries event in Loyola Marymount University yesterday (Monday 16thJune 2025).

Supported by Contemporary Irish Arts Los Angeles (CIACLA) and the LMU Irish Studies Program, this full-day workshop, was designed to spark creativity and provide valuable insight into careers in the creative industries. Participants took part in a dynamic musical theatre session led by award-winning Writer/Director Maire Campbell, and heard from acclaimed screenwriters Kirsten Sheridan and Ryan Rowe as they shared their experience and advice on working in film and television. Through the event’s partnership with CIACLA, the young people also benefitted from the musical stylings of Aoife Corry and Hannah Crowley!

This was a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop new skills, connect with like-minded peers, and explore pathways into the screen and performing arts sectors. We can’t wait to see what they get up to next!
