CALL OUT: ‘Digital Skills Academy’ with Belfast Met

This Digital Skills Academy, in partnership with Cinemagic, is fully funded by Bank of America and has been designed to support individuals aged 16+  currently not in  employment, education or training. 

The Belfast Digital Skills & Employability Programme is an inclusive new initiative designed to help develop digital skills and boost employment potential. Funded by the Bank of America, this programme aims to increase participation of under-represented individuals in gaining industry relevant skills and access to education and employment opportunities. 

Each Digital Skills Academy has a particular focus on supporting those most socially and economically disadvantaged, such as people not currently in employment, education, or training or who have caring responsibilities. 

The Digital Skills Academy – Creative Technology

By joining the Digital Skills Academy, you will gain:

  • Digital Skills: Learn how to generate story ideas, craft scripts, understand crew roles, operate film equipment, and produce a short film, whilst working towards an OCN NI Level 3 award in Professional and Technical Media Production Practices. Through this Digital Skills Academy, you will have the opportunity to showcase your film to industry experts for feedback and advice.
  • Employability – Learn how to better understand and develop your strengths, qualities, skills, and abilities whilst building confidence in how to move into the workplace.
  • Employer Engagement – Participants will have the opportunity to network with local film, TV, gaming, and animation employers during a Creative Industries Careers Week.

Course Days and Times

The Digital Skills Academy will be delivered two days per week for the first four weeks and then five days per week from 9th June onwards

Total course is for 8 weeks,  and each day will be 10am – 4.30pm

All training will take place in the Belfast Met e3 Building, Springfield Road, Belfast

Training Allowance

Participants will receive a weekly training allowance of up to £150, based on full attendance each week, plus childcare where applicable and evidenced.
