Have you got an idea but aren’t sure how to develop it into a script? BBC Writersroom read a LOT of scripts from newer writers, most of which could benefit from more development of character and story. Here’s where BBC Writersroom comes in. This three part workshop is designed to give emerging scriptwriters some key tools to progress an idea to “pitch” stage.
The first two parts will explore core character and story principles and, using simple exercises, give you some tools to develop your idea into a two-page pitch. In the final part, you will get one-to-one feedback on your pitch from a member of the BBC Writersroom team.
Part 1: Monday 5th Oct, 6:00 – 7:30pm
Part 2: Tuesday 6th Oct, 6:00 – 7:30pm
Part 3 (Feedback): Tuesday 20th Oct, 5:00 – 7:00pm
These sessions build on each other, so attendance at all is essential. As well as exercises within the first two parts, you will be expected to deliver a two page pitch ahead of the final part. Please come with an original idea that you are interested in developing. This is a practical workshop where participants will be given individual feedback on their work, so spaces are limited (maximum capacity of 25).
Participants will be required to fill out a brief contact information/evaluation form and Cinemagic will be in touch to advise.
