CINEMAGIC U12s BELFAST FESTIVAL WINS FAMILY EVENT OF THE YEAR!
24 May 2013

Cinemagic's Under 12s Festival Programme in Belfast has been awarded 'Family Event of The Year' at the glittering, circus themed, Ni4kids Family Awards on May 23, 2013 at Belfast City Hall.
Presented by UTV's Alison Fleming, the awards recognised organisations, families and individuals from Northern Ireland who put families first. Politicians, members of the business community, media, VIP presenters and local sporting stars were all in attendance to celebrate the event.
Nadia Duncan, Managing Editor for Ni4kids Magazine said of the inspiration behind the awards: “For over 10 years now we have been putting families first by publishing a magazine and website dedicated to families with younger children in Northern Ireland. In 2012 we created a new event which aims to recognise and celebrate the organisations and individuals across Northern Ireland who also put families first. We were amazed by the level of interest and inundated with nominations for mums, dads and grandparents who have gone to amazing lengths for their loved ones.
“Families also have an opportunity to nominate individuals and organisations who have really helped them in the Family Support Organisation of the Year and Childcare categories and we are also searching for the 2013 Primary School teacher of the Year, Family Restaurant and Family Friendly Business of the Year. Other categories include Family Event and Visitor Attraction of the Year.
Siobhan McKeown, marketing manager for The OUTLET Village, Banbridge who are the title sponsors of the event explains why they are supporting the awards for a second year: “The OUTLET is a family shopping destination and therefore we host a number of events throughout the year for families with a focus on keeping the kids entertained while mum and dad browse our stores. We have had an opportunity to work with some of last year’s family event of the year award finalists such as the Emerald Garrison, the team at W5 and the Belfast Circus Schoolso we know what a tremendous effort goes into making these events happen.
“As a parent myself, I know that weekends just wouldn’t be the same without a great family event to attend and luckily there are so many to choose from now. Nominating your favourite event for the Family Event of the Year Award is the perfect way to say thanks and give the organisers some well deserved credit for the great job they do.
The team at Cinemagic wish to extend their thanks to NI4Kids and the readers of NI4Kids for recognising and awarding the under 12s Festival at the ceremony and plans are well under way for the 2013 Festival with a feast of family 'film fun' for under 12s and their schools and families to enjoy.
The Festival runs in Belfast and across towns in Northern Ireland from 4th-18th October.
